The Asia Carbon Footprint Network (ACFN), consisting of 14 member organizations in South-East Asia and North-East Asia, aims to bring key stakeholders together and promote carbon labelling implementation in the Asian region through disseminating good practices initiated by public and private sectors. The objective of the proposed project was to provide a platform for discussion and information exchange on the recent advancements of carbon footprint through the hosting of a three-day international conference. This will enable Hong Kong to gain valuable knowledge and experience from other countries, and in turn, be able to successfully implement carbon labelling, management and disseminate food practices by public and private sectors over the world.

Summary of the Findings/Outcomes:
Hong Kong served as the host city for the first time for the conference, which brought together 14 member organizations of the “Asia Carbon Footprint Network” in Asia and was attended by international experts, policy makers and researchers to discuss what was seen as one of the biggest threats and challenges of our time, climate change. More than 160 overseas and local conference delegates gathered in Hong Kong to discuss the latest industry trends and policies and lay the foundation for closer co-operations.
