ECF Committee - Chairman’s Sharing
The Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF) has always attached great importance to research and development in environment and nature conservation. We will continue to support eligible projects that yield direct and practical benefits to the environment and conservation, ensuring that research outcomes make tangible contributions. Scientific research is not merely an academic pursuit, but a key driving force for promoting environmental practices.
We encourage eligible local non-profit-making organisations to apply for the ECF’s funding schemes. By fostering collaboration between academia and industry through our funding schemes, research outcomes can be closely integrated with industry needs. This synergy facilitates widespread application of research results, benefiting various sectors and the entire community, as we work together to make contributions to Hong Kong’s natural environment.
We have produced promotional videos for the Research and Development Projects (R&DP) Funding Scheme and would like to share with you how the research outcomes of three signature projects under this scheme can be put into practical application :
- 1. Development of an Energy-saving Coating System for Sustainable Building Envelope (Chinese version only)
- 2. Value-added Collective Recycling of Waste Plastics and Waste Tyre Rubber into Durable Asphalt Pavements (Chinese version only)
- 3. Transparent Wood for Energy Saving Applications: Coated Wood Glass – from Fabrication to Technology Demonstration (Chinese version only)
For those interested in applying for funding under the R&DP Funding Scheme, please view the video on application procedures (Chinese version only) for application details. We look forward to joining hands with you to transform innovative ideas into environmental actions.
