ECF Committee Chairman and Members visited GREEN@ABERDEEN in March 2026

Accompanied by the Director of Environmental Protection, Dr CHUI Ho-kwong, Samuel, JP, the Chairman of the Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF) Committee, Dr CHENG Kam-chung, Eric, SBS, MH, OStJ, JP, together with members of the ECF Committee and the Practice and Action Projects (P&AP) Vetting Subcommittee, visited the Recycling Store GREEN@ABERDEEN on 25 March 2026. They met with staff of the operating organization (the Operator) to learn about the classification of recyclables and clean recycling processes practiced at the Recycling Store.

During the visit, the Operator of GREEN@ABERDEEN introduced their initial ideas on innovative measures for enhancing the cost-effectiveness, including trial of installing sensor-activated system in the recycling facilities of residential premises to provide recyclable sorting tips for the residents, and producing promotional video to raise public awareness on clean recycling, etc. In addition to providing funding support, the visit demonstrates ECF's commitment in promoting waste reduction and recycling, as well as encouraging higher community participation in recycling efforts.
