Scope:
This project aims at developing smart electrochromic windows based on plasmonic effects so that light and heat transmission can be controlled independently in response to environmental change. This novel concept attempts to reduce energy consumption for air conditioning and lighting. The project is divided into three phases:

1. Develop plasmonic materials with desired properties on visible and near-infrared transmission.
2. Simulate the performance of plasmonic electrochromic windows in prior to fabrication.
3. Demonstrate a small scale of plasmonic window with good optical behaviors, fast response time, and long lifetime.
